Sundridge1 Monday at 10am
Meet outside Prince Fredric Pub, 31 Nichol Lane, BR1 4DE
Parking in Minister Road or Nichol Lane (green Chain footpath connects them) or there is a car park behind the Pub.
Explore Sundridge Park area. 1 hour, 1 ½- 2 ½ miles (optional extra laps of park).
Gentle walk with only slight inclines and flight of 8 steps over a railway bridge. One lap of Kings Meadow park to start. The route then crosses a railway bridge following the Green Chain path, continuing post Sundridge Tennis Club into Garden Road. We then explore the very quiet residential roads along the golf course. Some paths and roads are unmade, or wear sensible footwear e.g. sturdy flat shoes/trainers.
The return route retraces past the Tennis Club but continues along the green chain path and through a small wood before coming into Milk Street, under the Railway Bridge and back into Kings Meadow. The woodland path can be wet and muddy. If it is considered too muddy, the walk will be varied to retrace the route over the footbridge. Depending on time and fitness level, walkers complete either one or two laps of the park before heading to the Prince Frederick for refreshment and a chat.
Pushchairs welcome but need to be carried over the footbridge.
For people who cannot manage either the footbridge or the full walk, we can work out other variations, keeping to the park, Milk Street and the woodland. Please inform the walk leader at the start if you have any concerns.
